Chinwe Obianwu, MPH
Chinwe Obianwu worked for military medicine as a Clinical Epidemiologist for 3 years. The majority of her work dealt with analyzing the quality of care in Military Medicine (Military Health Care). Through her analysis she determined how well health practitioners were servicing patients based on evidence based best clinical practice guidelines. She developed benchmarks, managed dashboards, and produced reports based on clinical practice guidelines. Chinwe is a native Detroiter, she moved back to the Detroit metropolitan area in 2013 to serve the Detroit population through public health. Chinwe currently works at the Institute for Population Health (IPH). Some of Chinwe’s roles at IPH include producing Detroit’s Combined Data Book 2009 & 2010 (databank), supporting IPH’s Tuberculosis program, Lead program, and various data request from the organization. She’s conducted Health Impact Assessments, Community Health Needs Assessment, designed studies, databases, produced many health reports, and continues to write the TB Cooperative Agreement-Tuberculosis Elimination grant biannually. She’s knowledgeable in Detroit’s TB surveillance and the practices and policies of IPH’s TB program.
