LeeAnne Roman, PhD
Dr. Roman is an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She leads the Michigan Families Medicaid Project (MFMP), a multi-disciplinary team of investigators that has assisted the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) for four years in its efforts to improve enhanced prenatal and infant services for Medicaid eligible women and infants. MFMP has provided timely analysis of existing State data, the development of new risk screening and assessment tools and analysis of risk screening data linked to birth outcomes. The purpose of the MFMP is to provide Michigan Department of Community Health with the tools necessary to achieve a datadriven approach to Medicaid program and policy development, service integration, quality improvement, program evaluation, and planning for Medicaid services.
Dr. Roman also participates in the psychosocial group of the NIH funded POUCH study, led by Dr. Claudia Holzman, Department of Epidemiology. Studies on maternal depression and pregnancy attitudes and preterm birth are underway
