Michael Heumann, MPH, MA
Michael has been an occupational and environmental epidemiologist for 28 years at the Oregon Public Health Division, where he helped develop the epidemiological approaches to public health emergency preparedness at the Oregon Public Health Division. He worked closely with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to develop and disseminate the Emergency Responder Health Monitoring and Surveillance (ERHMS) framework to protect the health and safety of responders. He is a consultant with NIOSH, the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists, and state health departments on developing Disaster Epidemiology as a core part of public health response to all phases of the disaster management cycle. Michael is the principal epidemiologist with HeumannHealth Consulting.
