Susan Mayfield-Johnson, PhD, MPH, MCHES
Dr. Susan Mayfield-Johnson, PhD, MPH, MCHES, is the director of the Center for Sustainable Health Outreach, at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Mayfield-Johnson has extensive experience working with community health workers, racially diverse and underserved populations, health disparities, and research designs. She has a strong commitment to community engagement in public health educational programs and practice in participatory action research for improving community health. She believes that people are the locus of community health determinants and solutions, and is dedicated to ensuring that all citizens are at the center of all community discussions and participate in the decision-making process on how to improve the health and well-being of local residents.
